Developing my new website
It’s amazing how much time this can take. I’m an experienced website builder, so I knew what I was in for, but when it’s your own new website it feels a little as though nothing can or will ever go right again. Self-deprecation is alive and well.
The original design for the new website was just not responsive enough, and really lacked important features. This is what happens when you entrust another, who totally misreads the brief. If you want it doing right, do it yourself. Very prophetic.
I had to start afresh and literally start over from scratch. In hindsight though, the process has actually been quite cathartic. Adding the features I actually wanted and needed into the new website, whilst unceremoniously ditching the irrelevant.

Looking ahead though, there’s a lot of things for me to focus on in addition to this website. But I like the busy nature of it, and looking forward a little further, the creation of content for the pages and the platform’s (social media) I will be busier than ever.
post production enhancements
Ever wondered how long it takes to edit a 30 minute video? It varies of course, but can take a serious amount of time to edit before publishing. Add in the website design and content, the drone footage, bike footage, social media etc., and it came become a mountain to climb if not prepared.
Time management has become easier of late after adding another monitor to add more pc desktop workspace. Three would have been even better! But realistically two will suffice. It has expedited post production editing for both video’s and photo’s too.
Another year wasted
Covid-19 has changed a lot of the remit for yet another year. I have been planning this pastime for a good few years, so I guess one more won’t make any difference.
Instead of buying GoPro Hero 9’s I have decided to hold fast to see the spec’s for the soon to be released Hero 10. I’ll be looking to see if the existing hardware will suit the Hero 10 from the Hero 9. Hopefully some improvements to the touch screen and software will evolve too.
Add to this mix that the GS final drive had failed, I had plenty of time to resolve this – well, I say that, but as I type this I have not completed the repair due to waiting for parts and/or bad weather. As I type this update it is 17th August 2021.

Now I am just adding or subtracting categories to simplify the navigation, along with pages and posts that needed revision.
The news ticker is a nice addition, which I will keep up to date fresh content and later links within to point towards the article or information I am making mention of. I hope that the timing for the paragraph is not too fast.
I must kick off the socials too. I have not had an opportunity to do this for many different reasons. I didn’t want to just add images or video’s for ‘padding’. So I am hoping to document the final drive failure I mentioned previously, with some images of the issue, the fix and some final thoughts to the specific post I have written about this issue.
There’s no rush for any of these things. First priority has to be the fix for the GS to be done as soon as I possibly can. At least I shall have some solace from knowing the prop shaft and final drive on my GS is fully sorted and lubricated, and I shall maintain both to avoid this failure happening again in my ownership.
